FRANK SERPICO

Francesco Vincent Serpico was born on April 14th 1936. He is an American New York City Police Department (NYPD) officer retired who become famous testifying against police corruption in 1971.

Serpico was born in Brooklyn, New York. He was the youngest child of Italian immigrants from Marigliano, in Naples. His parents were Vincenzo and Maria Giovanna Serpico. When he was 18, he enroled in the United States Army and spent two years in Korea. Later, he worked as a part-time private investigator and as a youth counselor.

In 1959, he joined the NYPD. He worked for the New York City Police Department for twelve years and then for the Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) for two years. Serpico was later assigned to work against corruption.


Cookies recipe

Ingredients:

150g of flour

100g of butter

70g of sugar

3 spoons of milk


Steps:

1- Heat the oven.

2- Put all ingredients in a bowl.

3- Mix it all by hand and make a ball with the mixture.

4- Spread a little bit of flour on the table and knead the mixture.

5- Make the cookie shapes with a baking tin.

6- Put it all in the oven.

7- Leave it for 15 minutes inside the very hot oven.

8- Take them out of the oven, and then... You can eat your own cookies!!!!!


How to make crêpes

Ingredients:

- 4 tablespoons of flour

- A trickle of milk

- A teaspoon of sugar

- 1 or 2 eggs


Steps:

- Take the egg(s) and put them in a bowl.

- In the same bowl, add 1 teaspoon of sugar.

- Then, add 4 tablespoons of flour.

- Finally, keep adding milk until you can see that the batter is neither liquid nor solid, but somewhere between the two. (You will be able to make more than one crêpe with this quantity of batter).

- Then, heat a frying pan and put some butter in it to prevent the crêpe from getting burnt.

- When the butter and the frying pan are heated, put some batter in it.

- With a spatula, check that the crêpe does not get burnt.

- When the batter is solid, turn it over.

- Then, wait until the two parts of the crêpe are browned, and put the crêpe on a plate.

- Finally, put ingredients inside the crêpe (chocolate, cheese, jam, etc) and that's all! You are now ready to eat the crêpe!

Yogurt cake

For eight people


Ingredients

2 yogurts

4 eggs

3 yogurt containers filled with sugar

1 yogurt container filled with oil

4.5 yogurt containers filled with flour

1 packet of baking powder

grated lemon rind (optional)

"Colacao" (optional)

A little butter


- Beat the eggs.

- Mix the yogurts with the eggs.

- Add to the mixture 3 yogurt containers filled with sugar. After that, add the 4.5 yogurt containers filled with flour, the container with oil and the packet of baking powder.

- Mix all these ingredients.

- Clean one lemon and grate its rind, or put in a bit of "Colacao".

- Heat the oven to 180º (5-10 minutes).

- Put the pastry into a container covered with tinfoil and a little butter.

- Put the cake in the oven for 45 minutes-1 hour (more or less).

- If you want, you can decorate the cake with "lacasitos", icing sugar, jam, hot chocolate, etc...
